What we offer

For Researchers our Research and Innovation Service provides professional and career development opportunities for Postgraduate Researchers and research staff to ensure researchers are equipped with a broad range of skills, knowledge and experiences, from research integrity training to project management, leadership, collaboration, public engagement, enterprise or research impact.

For Lecturers our Early Career Development Programme (ECDP) aims to develop high achieving, high performing academics who will help the University of Glasgow to deliver its vision and ambitions. It supports the University’s strategic objective of being ‘A globally connected, globally influential university.’

The Programme provides learning and development opportunities in all aspects of the academic role; allocating a mentor to provide support and advice; and setting annual objectives which enable academics to develop their abilities and achievements with a view to meeting the criteria for promotion to Grade 9 within a defined timescale.

The focus of the £1 billion project is the 5 hectare former Western Infirmary site and the foundations for our new campus were laid in 2016 when a multi-million pound project to install an energy efficient district heating scheme was completed, cutting our carbon emissions by 5000 tonnes a year.

Our aim is to nurture true talent and offer the best environment in which to do so.

The new Learning & Teaching Hub will be an inspirational and diverse learning space that will give all of our students the support they need to succeed. This flagship development will be a creative environment, combining flexible study and social learning space with multi-styled and technology-enabled teaching. Around the clock access to this building will ensure that it is possible to succeed regardless of background or circumstance.

Inspiring and nurturing our world changers of tomorrow, by providing them with high-quality teaching facilities and the financial support to access them, is the very heart of our campaign.

The Research Hub will engage and connect the University with industry, the City of Glasgow and global research and policy communities to make a difference to people’s lives.

We are uniquely placed to tackle some of the most pressing issues of our time. From chronic to infectious disease, water security to global inequality, we are using insight and experience to find solutions with global impact.

Innovative minds need spaces to thrive and our Research Hub is all about creating a catalyst for change, excellence and innovation.
